Our editorial policy.

Useful before beautiful

Every tutorial should tell you what the project costs, how long active work takes, which tools it needs, and where extra care is required. Decorative styling never replaces a clear instruction.

Photography and generated images

We may use generated editorial images to illustrate a design direction. We do not present them as documentary proof that a project was physically tested. Process photographs and product photographs are identified when they are available.

Products and affiliate links

Ottly gift picks link to our own Etsy listings and are presented separately from the materials needed for a project. If we add affiliate partnerships in the future, we will identify those links near the recommendation.

Corrections

If a material, measurement, or safety note needs correction, we update the article and note the revision date.
